Construction Commences at Cordia UK’s BTR Development, The Lampworks, in Birmingham

Construction has officially begun at Cordia UK’s latest project, The Lampworks, located in Birmingham. This development marks Cordia UK’s entry into the build-to-rent sector, offering 148 apartments ranging from one to three bedrooms, including affordable housing options. The apartments are rated A and B on the Energy Performance Certificate scale, showcasing the project’s commitment to sustainability.

To bring this vision to life, Cordia UK has partnered with construction management practice buildfifty5 and residential general contractor Pedrano UK. The collaborative effort will provide residents with access to a range of communal amenities, including a co-working space, meeting rooms, a shared lounge, and a modern kitchen/diner furnished with the latest technologies.

András Kárpáti, CEO at Cordia UK, expressed excitement about the project, highlighting The Lampworks as a unique addition to Birmingham’s rental market. The development aims to blend contemporary architectural design with the historical heritage of the Jewellery Quarter, creating a truly special living experience.

Financial support for The Lampworks has been provided by Octopus Real Estate, as part of their Greener Homes Alliance initiative with Homes England. Nick White, head of development origination at Octopus Real Estate, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting sustainable developments like The Lampworks, which are crucial in providing quality, eco-friendly homes.
