ULI UK’s Executive Committee Welcomes Five Senior Appointments

Leaders from UK Real Estate Appointed to ULI UK Executive Committee

Five new members have been appointed to the Urban Land Institute (ULI) UK National Council’s Executive Committee, bringing a wealth of expertise and leadership to the real estate industry in the UK. Ali Abbas, Mary-Anne Bowring, Samantha Kempe, Shelley Matthews, and Katherine Russell come from various organisations and will serve on a voluntary basis for the next two years.

Ali Abbas, the UK Managing Partner at Art-Invest Real Estate Management UK Ltd, brings over 25 years of experience in investment and business operations. Mary-Anne Bowring, the Group Managing Director at Ringley/Una Living, has over 26 years of property experience as a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Surveyor. Samantha Kempe, the Co-Founder and CIO of IMMO Capital, brings around 20 years of experience in private equity and corporate finance.

Shelley Matthews, the Strategy Director at The Crown Estate, is a Chartered Surveyor with over 25 years of experience in real estate valuation and investment management. Katherine Russell, the Director of Build to Rent at the John Lewis Partnership, has over 15 years of property experience and leads the company’s plans to transform their brownfield property portfolio to deliver homes with a positive social impact.

Mark Collins, the Chair of ULI UK, expressed a warm welcome to the new committee members and highlighted their expertise, connections, and leadership that will benefit ULI UK’s mission and programs. The new members will join existing committee members to address critical challenges impacting UK real estate, such as decarbonisation and housing attainability.

The ULI UK Executive Committee is responsible for contributing to the strategic direction of the National Council and organizing programs, conferences, and events on industry-related issues. The focus is on bringing together public and private sector stakeholders to find solutions and build consensus on land use and development challenges.

The ULI is a non-profit organization focused on shaping the future of the built environment for transformative impact in communities worldwide. With over 1300 members in the UK, ULI continues to promote collaboration and knowledge exchange within the built environment sector. These new committee members will further enhance ULI UK’s initiatives and contribute to the industry’s growth and development.
