Dubai and India Forge Mutually Beneficial Real Estate Partnerships
Dubai, known for its thriving real estate market, has long been a top choice for Indian investors looking to purchase properties overseas. In 2022 alone, Indians made property purchases worth over $4 billion in Dubai, further cementing their stronghold in the city’s real estate sector. With high rental yields, a strategic location, business-friendly environment, and stable political climate, Dubai has become a preferred destination for Indian real estate investors.
However, what may come as a surprise to many is the growing interest of Dubai developers and builders in India’s booming real estate market. With India’s rapid economic growth, infrastructure development, and rising middle-class population, there is a growing demand for new properties in the country. The Jumeirah Group, a luxury hotel company, is among those eyeing India for its expansion plans, with aims to double its global footprint by 2030.
Emaar Properties, Dubai’s largest developer, is also looking to re-enter the Indian market after a failed attempt in 2005. H.E. Mohamed Ali Alabbar, Founder and Managing Director of Emaar Properties, expressed confidence in India’s leadership and business environment, stating that “India is our future.” The company is currently working on a museum project in Gujarat and is planning a resort project in the ‘hills of India’, with more announcements to follow in the coming months.
Beyond residential and commercial projects, Emaar is also open to taking on smart cities and urban redevelopment projects in India, showcasing their commitment to the country’s growth and development. With both Dubai and India benefiting from this mutually beneficial partnership, the real estate landscape is set to witness dynamic and evolving transformations in the years to come.
