During the clearing of protesters at a New York University campus, police officers discovered signs with terrorist slogans, including “Death to America” and “Death to Israeli real-estate.” The NYPD broke up the encampment at NYU, calling in cleaning crews to remove tents and belongings.

Deputy Commissioner Kaz Daughtry shared photos of the inflammatory literature and signage found at the protest site. He emphasized that the NYPD supports free speech and peaceful protest but condemns the violent messages displayed on the recovered signs.

Chief John Chell confirmed that the NYPD conducted operations at the request of school presidents at NYU and The New School, resulting in the arrest of 56 individuals, mostly students. Despite the arrests, no incidents occurred during the operation.

One sign recovered from the protest area read, “You will not find a truce from us,” while another demanded, “Enough with De-Escalation Trainings: Where are the Escalation Trainings!”

Prior to this incident, police had arrested over 100 students at NYU on April 22 during a demonstration in solidarity with students at Columbia University and to protest Israel’s conflict with Hamas in Gaza. Fox News correspondent Alexis McAdams reported on Wednesday that anti-Israel protesters had re-established the encampment on the campus.
