Springtime Bounty: Buyers Enjoy Highest Level of Home Choices in Five Years with South West Leading the Way

The real estate market is seeing a surge in supply as buyers now have the highest level of spring-time choice of homes in five years, according to new data from Zoopla. Specifically, the South West region is experiencing a bumper rise in supply, with agents reporting 2.5 times as many homes for sale compared to last year.

Popular countryside and coastal locations like Cornwall, Devon, Wales, and the East Midlands are among the areas seeing an increase in available properties. This rise in supply is making it easier for buyers to find their dream home.

In Cornwall, a three-bedroom barn conversion in the village of Grampound is on the market for £300,000, while a two-bedroom flat on Weston-Super-Mare’s seafront in Somerset is available for £279,000. In Devon, a two-bedroom terrace in Exeter is listed at £290,000, and in Wales, a semi-detached house in Cardiff is priced at £250,000. In the East Midlands, a two-bedroom end of terrace in Leicester is up for grabs at £200,000.

Agents in these regions have reported increased levels of activity, with more properties coming onto the market and giving buyers a wider selection to choose from. This shift in the market is not only benefiting buyers but also assisting vendors in their onward purchases.

As the spring market continues to heat up, buyers in these supply hotspots have more options than ever before to find their perfect home.
