Investcorp Launches $526m US Industrial Real Estate Venture with Sovereign Wealth Fund Backing

Investcorp, a global alternative investment group, has made a major move in the US industrial real estate market by setting up a new $526m venture with the support of two leading sovereign wealth funds. With a total commitment of over $1bn in equity over the past few years, Investcorp is looking to expand its presence in the thriving US industrial market.

The company’s existing industrial real estate holdings in the US already amount to $5.1bn across 43m sqft, but this new venture will allow Investcorp to significantly increase its market presence. Executive chairman, Mohammed Alardhi, highlighted the trust placed in Investcorp’s real estate platform by the sovereign wealth funds, emphasizing the company’s commitment to delivering growth opportunities for investors.

Herb Myers, co-head of real estate, US for Investcorp, pointed out the strong fundamentals of the US industrial sector, specifically citing the opportunities in last-mile facilities driven by ecommerce, nearshoring trends, and government spending. These factors contribute to the record demand for industrial assets near large population centers, providing a ripe environment for Investcorp to expand its investments.

The new venture is seen as a strategic move to capitalize on the high-potential US industrial market, with Investcorp set to focus on last-mile subset assets that are insulated from supply chain issues. As the company continues to target growth opportunities, this latest development underscores its commitment to maximizing value and delivering robust returns for investors and shareholders.
