Founder of Self-Employed Brand TAUK Sets Out Hopes for Market Domination

Steph Walker, one of the founders of the self-employed brand The Agency UK (TAUK), has laid out ambitious plans for the company to dominate the market and become a top player within the next decade. In a recent episode of the Two Russells estate agency podcast, Walker expressed her belief that TAUK has the potential to not only lead the self-employed market but also expand beyond that.

Launched last September with financial backing from Purplebricks’ founder Kenny Bruce and former Countrywide boss Harry Hill on the board, TAUK has already made waves in the industry. Walker announced plans for a 30% upfront commission model on listings for agents, with a monthly cap of £3,600, as a way to address the barriers to entry for agents in the current market.

According to Walker, the stagnant salaries in the industry have created a need for more flexibility and financial freedom for agents. The upfront commission model aims to provide agents with the opportunity to increase their earnings and deliver better services to clients. While acknowledging that the model may not suit everyone, Walker believes it will open up more conversations with agents and drive growth in the industry over the next five to 10 years.

When asked about the potential for Purplebricks’ style growth and marketing spend with Bruce’s involvement, Walker indicated that TAUK’s focus for the next few years is steady and sustainable growth. She expressed optimism about the brand’s future, envisioning TAUK as a top player in the market within the next decade through continued hard work and dedication.

With a clear vision and a strategic approach, TAUK is setting itself up for success in the competitive self-employed market. Stay tuned for more updates on TAUK’s journey towards market dominance. Watch the full podcast interview for more insights into the brand’s plans and strategies.
