Qatar’s Real Estate Trading Soars to Over $265 Million in February
In a recent report released by the Real Estate Registration Department at Qatar’s Ministry of Justice, it was revealed that the country’s real estate trading reached a staggering volume of QAR965.51 million ($265.21 million) in February. This data was further supported by a total of 268 real estate transactions being registered during that month.
The report also highlighted the most active municipalities in terms of financial value for March. Doha, Al Rayyan, and Al Dhaayen were identified as the top players in the real estate market index, followed closely by Al Wakrah, Umm Salal, Al Khor and Al Dhakira, Al Shamal, and Al Shahaniya.
Breaking down the numbers, Doha municipality led the pack with transactions valued at QAR324,460,167, followed by Al Rayyan municipality with QAR250,180,378, and Al Dhaayen municipality with QAR150,780,434. Al Wakrah, Umm Salal, Al Khor, Al Dhakira, Al Shamal, and Al Shahaniya also made significant contributions to the total trading volume.
In terms of traded space index and sold properties, Al Rayyan, Al Wakrah, and Doha municipalities were highlighted as the most active in March. Al Rayyan accounted for 26 percent of the total traded real estate spaces, while Al Rayyan municipality led in the number of real estate transactions with 23 percent of the total.
The month of March also saw varying average prices per square foot across municipalities, with Doha ranging between QAR492 and QAR755, Al Wakrah between QAR242 and QAR329, and Al Rayyan between QAR317 and QAR497, among others.
Mortgage transactions also played a significant role in the real estate market, with a total of 220 transactions valued at QAR5,868,866,899 in March. Al Wakrah topped the list with 54.1 percent of the total mortgage transactions, followed by Al Rayyan and Doha.
